Dr. Sandra Tostar is the Technical Leader for polymers and biobased material applications for Volvo Cars. Ever since she was studying, Sandra became fascinated by the possibilities & and challenges around polymers. Over the years, it became obvious that plastics are a truly critical material in automotive. As she puts it herself, she became the “go-to-person” for any question around plastics. And as such she leads the thinking around recycling on one hand side, and the application of recycled materials on the other hand. Dr. Tostar does this beyond the daily work at Volvo Cars as she is a gifted speaker to convince the overall industry of the need to start early the process about recycling in many aspects.
