After having graduated in chemisty, Rainer Schoenfeld joined Henkel in 1999. He held several positions in research, product development, and innovation management in Germany, the USA, and as VP of Product Development Automotive and Metals APAC in China. As of 2020, he is responsible for the Global Market Strategy of Exterior, Powertrain, Interior & Chassis.
