Dr. Ulf Zillig

Dr. Ulf Zillig has been Vice President for Group Research & Sustainability at Mercedes-Benz AG since January 2022. In this position, he is responsible for the management and coordination of all research and sustainability-related activities of Mercedes-Benz AG.
Previously, Ulf Zillig headed the global Development and Product Development Mercedes-Benz Vans since 2018. From 2014 to 2018, he held the position as overall project manager for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and was responsible for the vehicle’s conception as well as the platform VAN.EA. Before heading the Strategy and Business Development at Mercedes-Benz Vans in 2011, Ulf Zillig held various positions in the Research and Development of Mercedes-Benz Vans.
Ulf Zillig was born in 1966 and studied mechanical engineering with a focus on production engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and at the University of Oxford in Great Britain. After completing his doctorate at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, he began his professional career at the then DaimlerChrysler AG in 1998.
