Josef R. Wünsch is Senior Vice President at BASF SE. His responsibilities cover global research and product development for structural materials and systems based on thermoplastic and duroplastic materials. It is mainly directed towards BASF’s Performance Materials business with its industry segments transportation, construction, consumer and industrial. In conjunction with this role Josef R. Wünsch also serves as global spokesperson for automotive R&D at BASF.

Prior to the current role Josef R. Wünsch was in leadership positions in central research (responsible for formulation, mathematics, modelling and technology incubation) and as Managing Director in BASF Venture Capital, operationally responsible for the entire investment activities. Josef R. Wünsch is also experienced in business management, technical service, market development, and corporate functions where he held several positions in his career at BASF.

Josef R. Wünsch received a Ph.D. in chemistry from Georg August University in Göttingen.
